WASHINGTON, Oct. 15 -- The U.S. Department of Homeland Security's U.S. Coast Guard issued the following news release:
SAN DIEGO - The Coast Guard suspended its search for a missing kayaker near Torrey Pines Gliderport in La Jolla, California, at approximately 6:20 p.m., Tuesday.
At 6:00 a.m., watchstanders at Coast Guard Sector San Diego received notification that 27-year-old Samantha Youngs was missing, along with her kayak.
Her family reported her missing after Youngs' car was found at the Torrey Pines Gliderport cliffside parking lot.
