WASHINGTON, May 5 -- Coast Guard has issued a rule called: Safety Zones; Annual Events in the Captain of the Port Detroit Zone.
The rule was published in the Federal Register on May 5 by Richard P. Armstrong, Captain, U.S. Coast Guard, Captain of the Port Detroit.
Summary: The Coast Guard will enforce the safety zone for the Freedom Festival Luna Pier, MI from 9:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on June 27, 2026, to protect the safety of life and property on the navigable waters immediately prior to, during, and immediately after this event. During each enforcement period, no person or vessel may enter the respective safety zone without permission of the COTP Detroit or a designated representative.
