The rule was published in the Federal Register on July 1 by R.N. Macon, Captain, U.S. Coast Guard, Captain of the Port, Lake Michigan.
Summary: The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for navigable waters on a portion of Lake Michigan and the Michigan City Harbor in Michigan City, Indiana. This action is necessary to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by the fireworks display. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port, Sector Lake Michigan, or their designated representative.
