WASHINGTON, Dec. 16 -- Coast Guard has issued a rule called: Safety Zone; Fireworks Display, Lower Mississippi River, Natchez, MS.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Dec. 16 by Kristi L. Bernstein, CAPT, U.S. Coast Guard, Captain of the Port Sector Lower Mississippi River.

Summary: The Coast Guard is establishing a temporary safety zone for navigable waters of the Lower Mississippi River between Mile Markers 363 and 364. The safety zone is needed to protect personnel, vessels, and the marine environment from potential hazards created by a fireworks display from a barge. Entry of vessels or persons into this zone is prohibited unless specifically authorized by the Captain of the Port Sector Lower Mississippi River.
