WASHINGTON, Oct. 1 -- Coast Guard has issued a proposed rule called: Clarification of Certain Mariner Training Requirements.

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on Oct. 1 by R.C. Compher, Rear Admiral, U.S. Coast Guard, Assistant Commandant for Prevention Policy.

Summary: The Coast Guard proposes removing six requirements related to endorsements for the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended, and the Seafarer's Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping Code.
