U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) introduced the Improving IRS Customer Service Act (https://www.cassidy.senate.gov/wp-content/uploads/2026/04/GAI26199-Improving-IRS-Customer-Service-Act-For-Intro-1.pdf) to improve customer service at the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Among other things, the legislation would expand information regarding refunds available to taxpayers online and help taxpayers with payment plans if they need it.
"Taxpayers deserve a simple, stress-free experience when dealing with the IRS,"said Dr. Cassidy. "This bill makes the process quicker and easier for taxpayers to get the information they need."
