WASHINGTON, March 10 -- Sen. Bill Cassidy issued the following press release:

U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) applauded the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for approving Houma-Terrebonne Airport for the Advanced Air Mobility and Electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) Integration Pilot Program (eIPP). The Houma-Terrebonne Airport will be utilized for testing cargo and personnel transportation capabilities for flights over the Gulf of America to neighboring commercial facilities in Louisiana, Texas, and Mississippi. Senator Cassidy spoke with FAA Deputy Administrator Chris Rocheleau and urged the administration to choose Louisiana as one of the sites for this program.
