U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced the Port of South Louisiana will receive $43,361,426.00 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Port Infrastructure Development Program (PIDP), which received increased funding through Cassidy's Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (https://www.cassidy.senate.gov/infrastructure-investment-and-jobs-act). This grant provides federal funding to support the construction of a new dock conveyance system in Donaldsonville to transport iron ore pellets from port berths to a new ultra-low carbon steel manufacturing facility.
