BUREAU OF ALCOHOL, TOBACCO, FIREARMS, AND EXPLOSIVES ISSUES PROPOSED RULE: REVISING DEFINITIONS OF "ADJUDICATED AS A MENTAL DEFECTIVE" AND "COMMITTED TO A MENTAL INSTITUTION"

WASHINGTON, May 8 -- Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives has issued a proposed rule called: Revising Definitions of "Adjudicated as a Mental Defective" and "Committed to a Mental Institution".

The proposed rule was published in the Federal Register on May 8 by Robert Cekada, Director.

Summary: The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives ("ATF") proposes amending Department of Justice ("Department") regulations to update the definitions of "adjudicated as a mental defective" and "committed to a mental institution."
