U.S. Senators John Boozman (R-AR), Veterans' Affairs Committee Ranking Member Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Tammy Duckworth (D-IL) and Angus King (I-ME) led a formal request for the Department of Defense to review and confirm the presence of radiation and toxic substances at the Karshi Khanabad (K2) Air Base in Uzbekistan. Once confirmed, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) can deliver K2 veterans exposed to radiation long-overdue benefits through the authorities of the PACT Act Boozman championed into law (https://www.boozman.senate.gov/2022/8/boozman-backed-toxic-exposure-legislation-signed-into-law) in 2022.
