U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Jeff Merkley (D-OR) this week led 15 of their Democratic colleagues in calling on the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government to prohibit the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) from using federal funding to prevent states and Tribes from enforcing their gambling laws and gaming compacts with respect to prediction markets.
