[Hartford, CT] - U.S. Senator Richard Blumenthal and U.S. Representative Jim Himes (CT-04) today wrote to the Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) urging a thorough investigation of the cause of two equipment failures at the Oxford Compression Station.
In July, two equipment failures at the station resulted in the largest release of natural gas in Connecticut in over a decade. Residents were awakened by sounds resembling a jet engine and were given no explanation or information about the malfunction at the compressor station.
