[WASHINGTON, D.C.] - U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) and Ron Wyden (D-OR) and U.S. Representative Jim Himes (D-CT) introduced the Lori Jackson-Nicolette Elias Domestic Violence Survivor Protection Act, legislation to close a dangerous loophole that allows domestic abusers to legally obtain weapons. The Lori Jackson-Nicolette Elias Domestic Violence Survivor Protection Act restricts those under temporary restraining orders from purchasing or possessing a firearm and extends protections to domestic violence survivors who have been abused by their dating partners.
