[WASHINGTON, D.C.] - U.S. Senators Richard Blumenthal (D-CT), Ranking Member of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations (PSI), Peter Welch (D-VT), and Adam Schiff (D-CA) today sought records and information from Secretary of Homeland Security Markwayne Mullin about the Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) squandering of taxpayer funds and repeated steering of no-bid contracts to political allies. In a letter sent today to Mullin, the Senators urged the Department to ensure accountability for corrupt contracting decisions and ensure open competition among future prospective contractors.
