Atlanta, Dec. 5 -- ATHENS-CLARKE COUNTY GOVERNMENT has issued a solicitation notice (PE-62960-NONST-2026-000000094) titled ‘RFPQ 26011 J.G. BEACHAM WATER TREATMENT LAGOON CLEANOUT’. Notably, the event starts on Dec. 3 and ends on Jan. 7.
Further, the description states, “This is a lagoon dredging bid project for the JG Beacham Water Treatment Plant. Its lagoon collects sludge from the filtration and sedimentation treatment process which has not been dredged since 2018. Last dredging removed 6328 dry tons. It is not anticipated that the sludge is a hazardous waste as defined by federal and state regulations.
