AMMUNITION THEFTS FROM SPORTING GOODS STORES LAND OKLAHOMA CITY FELON IN FEDERAL PRISON FOR MORE THAN THREE YEARS

WASHINGTON, Oct. 22 -- The U.S. Department of Justice's U.S. Attorney's office for XXXXXX (insert district) issued the following press release:

OKLAHOMA CITY - ROBERT ALEXANDER PITTS, 39, of Oklahoma City, has been sentenced to serve 37 months in federal prison for possession of ammunition after a previous felony conviction and possession of stolen ammunition, announced U.S. Attorney Robert J. Troester.

According to public records, in the fall of 2025, Pitts stole ammunition on multiple occasions from Bass Pro and Cabela's stores in Oklahoma City. Pitts concealed boxes of ammunition in his pants pockets, hoodie pockets, waistbands, and elsewhere.In all, Pitts stole 2000 rounds of ammunition.
