AGRICULTURAL MARKETING SERVICE ISSUES RULE: ORANGES AND GRAPEFRUIT GROWN IN LOWER RIO GRANDE VALLEY IN TEXAS; INCREASED ASSESSMENT RATE

WASHINGTON, Aug. 27 -- Agricultural Marketing Service has issued a rule called: Oranges and Grapefruit Grown in Lower Rio Grande Valley in Texas; Increased Assessment Rate.

The rule was published in the Federal Register on Aug. 27 by Erin Morris, Administrator, Agricultural Marketing Service.

Summary: This final rule implements a recommendation from the Texas Valley Citrus Committee (Committee) to increase the assessment rate established for the 2024-2025 and subsequent fiscal periods from $0.03 to $0.04 per 7/10-bushel carton or equivalent of oranges and grapefruit grown in Texas. The assessment rate will remain in effect indefinitely unless modified, suspended, or terminated.
