On Tuesday, February 3rd at 11:00 a.m., Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC), the Senate sponsor of the D.C. statehood bill, Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-MD), DC Vote, DC Fiscal Policy Institute (https://www.dcfpi.org/), and Free DC (https://freedcproject.org/) will host a press conference to oppose a disapproval resolution that the House is expected to vote on tomorrow. If signed into law by the president, the resolution would repeal a local D.C. law that restores the child tax credit, increased an existing earned income tax credit, and decoupled D.C.'s tax code from certain provisions in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA).
