U.S, March 30 -- Food waste reduction has taken center stage at UN Tourism today, as global leaders and major industry players rally behind the "Recipe of Change" initiative-an ambitious effort to transform food systems across the tourism sector.

The initiative is already demonstrating immediate and tangible value. Major global tourism businesses participating in the program collectively serve more than 600 million guests annually and generate over USD 56.5 billion in revenue. Their engagement is helping mobilize the sector at scale to prevent food waste, influence consumer behavior, and accelerate the transition toward sustainable food systems.
