US, Aug. 1 -- A sightseeing flight carrying tourists over Peru's world-famous Nazca Lines has crashed, killing all 13 people on board, including 11 passengers and two crew members, authorities confirmed Saturday. The accident is one of the deadliest aviation disasters involving a tourist flight in Peru in recent years.

The aircraft, operated by Aerodiana, went down shortly after departing from Pisco Airport at approximately 1:00 p.m. local time (1800 GMT). The flight was conducting a scenic tour over the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Nazca Lines when it crashed at around 12:55 p.m. in an agricultural field in the Pueblo Viejo sector, roughly 6 kilometers from the city of Nazca in Peru's Ica region.
