Odisha Govt orders verification of century-old records to protect Lord Jagannath landBhubaneswar, Jul 14 (UNI) In an initiative to ensure accurate documentation and safeguard land belonging to Lord Jagannath, the revered presiding deity of Odisha, the State Government has directed revenue authorities to verify century-old land records and Records of Rights (RoRs).Revenue and Disaster Management Department Additional Chief Secretary Aravind Padhee issued a directive in this regard. They asked the Board of Revenue, Revenue Divisional Commissioners (RDCs), Collectors and the Director of Land Records and Surveys (DLRS) to accord top priority to safeguarding the deity's land assets.Officials have been asked to scrutinise historical revenue records, including RoRs for 1888-89, 1925-26, 1927-28, 1929-30, and 1977-78, wherever required, and to verify the 1927-28 Record of Rights for necessary correction of Khewat entries.They have also been directed to provide authenticated copies of old RoRs and old-new record reconciliation reports to the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) to facilitate effective handling of cases before the Board of Revenue.The government has also ordered the speedy disposal of 11,675 revenue cases filed by the SJTA across nine districts and immediate implementation of Board of Revenue orders in 257 cases instituted under Section 7(A) of the Odisha Estates Abolition Act.Revenue Inspectors, Amins, and other field officials have been instructed to conduct regular inspections of temple lands to prevent encroachments, unauthorised occupation, fraudulent claims, and illegal transfers.The exercise is intended to establish an accurate legal record of Lord Jagannath's land holdings, support the resolution of pending disputes, aid the protection and recovery of encroached temple land, and curb fraudulent ownership claims.The exercise will be monitored through monthly reviews at the district, sub-divisional, and tehsil levels, with progress reports to be submitted to the Revenue and Disaster Management Department.Padhee said protecting Lord Jagannath's land assets is both a legal obligation and a moral responsibility, and directed officials to treat all related matters on a priority basis.UNI MK RSAभुवनेश्वर, 14 जुलाई (वार्ता) ओडिशा में भगवान जगन्नाथ की भूमि की सुरक्षा और सटीक दस्तावेज सुनिश्चित करने की एक पहल के तहत, राज्य सरकार ने राजस्व अधिकारियों को सदी पुराने भूमि रिकॉर्ड और अधिकार अभिलेखों के सत्यापन का निर्देश दिया है।
राजस्व एवं आपदा प्रबंधन विभाग के अतिरिक्त मुख्य सचिव अरविंद पाढ़ी ने इस संबंध में एक निर्देश जारी किया है। उन्होंने राजस्व बोर्ड, राजस्व मंडल आयुक्तों, जिलाधिकारियों और भूमि रिकॉर्ड एवं सर्वेक्षण निदेशक को देवता की भूमि संपत्तियों की सुरक्षा को सर्वोच्च प्राथमिकता देने को कहा है।
अधिकारियों से कहा गया है कि वे आवश्यकतानुसार वर्ष 1888-89, 1925-26, 1927-28, 1929-30 और 1977-78 के अधिकार अभिलेखों सहित ऐतिहासिक राजस्व रिकॉर्ड की बारीकी से जांच करें और प्रविष्टियों के आवश्यक सुधार के लिए वर्ष 1927-28 के अधिकार अभिलेख का सत्यापन करें। उन्हें पुराने अधिकार अभिलेखों की प्रमाणित प्रतियां और पुराने-नए रिकॉर्ड मिलान रिपोर्ट श्री जगन्नाथ मंदिर प्रशासन को सौंपने का भी निर्देश दिया गया है ताकि राजस्व बोर्ड के समक्ष मामलों की प्रभावी पैरवी की जा सके।
सरकार ने नौ जिलों में मंदिर प्रशासन द्वारा दायर 11,675 राजस्व मामलों के त्वरित निपटारे और ओडिशा संपदा उन्मूलन अधिनियम की धारा 7 (ए) के तहत शुरू किए गए 257 मामलों में राजस्व बोर्ड के आदेशों को तत्काल लागू करने का भी आदेश दिया है। राजस्व निरीक्षकों, अमीन और अन्य क्षेत्रीय अधिकारियों को अतिक्रमण, अनधिकृत कब्जे, फर्जी दावों और अवैध हस्तांतरण को रोकने के लिए मंदिर की भूमि का नियमित निरीक्षण करने का निर्देश दिया गया है। इस कवायद का उद्देश्य भगवान जगन्नाथ की भूमि संपत्तियों का एक सटीक कानूनी रिकॉर्ड स्थापित करना, लंबित विवादों के समाधान में सहायता करना, अतिक्रमण की गई मंदिर भूमि की सुरक्षा एवं बहाली में मदद करना और फर्जी मालिकाना दावों पर रोक लगाना है।
