Aizawl, April 27 -- The ruling Zoram People's Movement (ZPM) registered a resounding victory in the election to the 19-ward Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC), securing 17 wardsin a landslide outcome as counting concluded on Monday.
The civic polls, held on April 21, saw ZPM emerge as the dominant force with a vote share of 71,470 out of the total 1,50,640 votes polled, accounting for 47.44 per cent.
The opposition Mizo National Front (MNF) managed to win a solitary ward, garnering 46,131 votes (30.62 per cent), while the Mizoram Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) also securedone ward with 31,097 votes, translating to 20.05 per cent of the total vote share.
