Aizawl, Aug. 26 -- The Lai Autonomous District Council (LADC) in south Mizoram has taken on a new political shape with the swearing-in of nine executive members (EMs) under Chief Executive Member (CEM) N. Zangura today.
The development consolidates the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), an MNF-BJP combine, which recently won a crucial trust vote in the council.
The oath ceremony, administered by Additional Deputy Commissioner David Lalrinawma in Lawngtlai district, followed Governor Gen. V.K. Singh's approval a day earlier. Portfolios forthe CEM and the new executives were also announced.
