Vijayawada, June 27 -- The visit of the opposition YSR Congress party leaders to the villagesin the capital region of Amaravati here on Saturday led to tension and a police constable was injured in the stone pelting incident.
YSRCP leaders including MLC Lella Appireddy, Devineni Avinash and former Minister Perni Venkatramaiah Nani, accompanied by a large number of activists and functionaries, embarked on a visit to the Amaravati region to know the problems and fears of farmers on land acquisition.
