Nellore, March 10 -- The Opposition YSR Congress Party has demanded a thorough investigation by a Central agency into the theft in 2023 during the Parakamani (counting) of foreign currency and donations in kind in Hundis (boxes) at the Tirumala temple as there are allegedly efforts to hush up the case.
Speaking to media here on Tuesday, former Minister Kakani Govardhan Reddy alleged that "the theft was swept under the carpet for a long time and when it has come out they made an employee a scapegoat and are trying to shield the kingpin in the case".
