Pune, Aug. 12 -- Students must go beyond conventional academic boundaries and embrace multidisciplinary education, innovation, critical thinking, skills and ethical values to prepare for emerging challenges, Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma said on Wednesday.
Addressing the 11th Vidyarambh-26 ceremony at MIT Art, Design and Technology University (MIT-ADT) at Loni Kalbhor, Varma said rapid advances in artificial intelligence, robotics, quantum computing, biotechnology, advanced manufacturing and digital technologies were transforming every sector.
Technology without ethics, values and compassion can become destructive, he said, stressing that science must be used for human welfare and not for the destruction of humanity.
