Kendrapara, Feb. 19 -- Acting on a complaint lodged by a minor girl, the Kendrapara Sadar Police Station has arrested a youth for alleged rape, immoral trafficking, and criminal intimidation.
A case was registered under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956.
The victim's statement was recorded under Section 180 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023. Both the victim and the accused were sent for medical examination.
The accused was produced before the ADJ-cum-Special POCSO Court, which remanded him to judicial custody.
