Chennai, June 3 -- In a shocking incident, a young woman was lured with the promise of a job, drugged and gang raped at Srivakuntam in the southern Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu, leading to the arrest of tw members of the ruling TVK members in this connection.
According to police sources, the victim was taken in a car by the accused under the pretext of securing a job. During the journey, she was allegedly given a soft drink laced with sedatives after which she became unconscious, and sexually assaulted.
Based on the complaint lodged by the victim, the Srivaikuntam All Women Police registered a case and arrested two accused - Balamurugan and Jayapal.
