Hyderabad, Sept. 12 -- Telangana DGP C V Anand on Saturday said the Young India Police School (YIPS) would expand its capacity to around 700-720 students next year after completion of its new building.

Anand laid the foundation stone for Academic Block-I at the YIPS on the OCTOPUS-Greyhounds campus at Manchirevula. The school, established on the lines of Army and Sainik schools following Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy's direction in December 2024, began with 120 students in a temporary campus last year and now has around 360.

He said YIPS would focus on academics, discipline, sports and co-curricular activities, including cricket, rock climbing and horse riding. Children of police personnel and Home Guards would be eligible, while 50 per...
