Yadgir (Karnataka), July 31 -- A 28-year-old farmer allegedly committed suicide in Saidapur town of Karnataka's Yadgir district, with family members attributing the extreme step to mounting debt and repeated crop failures, police said.
The deceased, identified as Mallikarjun, had reportedly borrowed money for cultivation but suffered successive crop losses, leaving him under severe financial stress.
According to his family, the burden of repaying loans and uncertainty over agricultural income pushed him into depression.
Police said Mallikarjun allegedly consumed pesticide and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
