Bengaluru, July 21 -- The Congress high command is weighing a generational shift in Karnataka's Council of Ministers, with Deputy Chief Minister G Parameshwara on Tuesday indicating that the impending Cabinet expansion could prioritise younger legislators over senior aspirants.
The remarks come as Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and KPCC President BK Hariprasad are in New Delhi for crucial consultations with the party leadership to finalise the long-delayed expansion, amid intense lobbying by ministerial hopefuls.
Signalling that the exercise has entered its final stage, Parameshwara said the expansion would take place once the Congress high command clears the proposed list of ministers.
