Meerut, Aug. 8 -- Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday showered flowers on Kanwar pilgrims in Meerut and hailed the annual pilgrimage as an example of devotion, dedication, social and national unity and communal harmony.
Accompanied by Meerut MP Arun Govil, who portrayed Lord Ram in the television serial Ramayana, and other public representatives, the Chief Minister welcomed and felicitated Shiva devotees on the Dashami Tithi of the holy month of Shravan. Flowers were also showered from a helicopter along the Kanwar route as chants of "Har-Har, Bam-Bam" reverberated across western Uttar Pradesh.
