Mumbai, April 7 -- As the Ministry of Ayush hosted Yoga Mahotsav-2026, it drew a large crowd of yoga enthusiasts to Maharashtra's historic town, Lonar, who performed yoga poses and set records on the dawn of Tuesday.
Nearly 5,000 participants assembled at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Udyan and performed Trikonasana, a standing triangular posture, entering the Asia Book of Records for the largest gathering performing the asana together.
The event organised by Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) marked the start of a 75-day countdown before the 12th International Yoga Day (IDY) celebrations.
