Mumbai, March 17 -- The rich and ancient tradition of Paithani weaving in Maharashtra is being brought into renewed focus through the "Karya" initiative, which aims to highlight not just the finished saree but the deep history, craftsmanship and communities behind it.
Karya, an initiative of the Vivz Fashion School, seeks to give craftsmanship the recognition it has long deserved. It positions craft not as a minor component of fashion, but as its cultural and creative foundation. The platform connects centuries-old techniques with contemporary design and presents them in a manner usually reserved for fine art or historical collections.
