Sanaa, Sept. 14 -- Armed forces aligned with Yemen's internationally recognised government have retaken positions from the Houthis and are advancing in the southwestern province of Taiz as fighting intensifies.
The government forces are being backed by air strikes targeting Houthi positions and gatherings along Yemen's western coast, Al Jazeera reported.
"The air force continues to bomb the Houthis" in and around Mocha and Dhubab on the west coast, Al Jazeera quoted the source as saying.
The Houthis, also known as Ansar Allah, said on Monday they had launched a large-scale attack on targets in Saudi Arabia using dozens of ballistic missiles and drones.
