Sanaa, Sept. 12 -- Yemen's fragile calm has unravelled, with fighting intensifying across several front lines and Iran-aligned Houthi forces capturing the strategic port town of Mokha near the Bab al-Mandab Strait.
More than 11,400 people have been displaced since September 3 as the Houthis have advanced along Yemen's western coast, while missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia have wounded 73 civilians, including women and children, officials told the UN Council.
Aid workers said entire villages had been emptied as civilians fled the sudden Houthi advance, with some families trapped near frontline areas as food supplies dwindled.
