Thiruvananthapuram, Aug. 14 -- A Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre has been opened at the Government Medical College here to provide vaccination to travellers visiting countries in South America and Africa.

Though yellow fever has not so far been reported in India, Malayalis are living and working in several countries where the disease is prevalent. Those travelling to such countries for employment are at risk of contracting the disease and vaccination is therefore essential, Kerala Health, Family Welfare and Devaswom Minister K Muraleedharan said.
