Aichi-Nagoya, Sept. 28 -- India's javelin succession story gathered fresh momentum at the Asian Games here on Monday as Yash Vir Singh and Rohit Yadav stepped up in the absence of defending champion Neeraj Chopra to deliver a double podium, winning silver and bronze respectively in the men's event.
Yash Vir produced a personal-best 85.72 metres with his sixth and final throw to snatch silver, while Rohit's 84.35m effort secured bronze as India put two throwers on the Asian Games podium in the same event.
Sri Lanka's world-leading Rumesh Pathirage continued his outstanding season to take gold with 88.55m, improving his previous best of 88.33m in the fourth round. Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem finished fourth with a season-best 80.29m.
