New Delhi, Sept. 16 -- The fifth edition of the Women's Premier League (WPL) will be held from January 14 to February 7, 2027, the BCCI announced on Wednesday.

The five franchises have until September 28 to finalise their player retentions, with the auction scheduled for October 28 in Kochi.

The upcoming auction will be a mini-auction, following last year's mega-auction in Delhi, where 73 slots were filled. Each franchise can have a maximum of 18 players and will operate with a salary purse of Rs 15 crore. There is no restriction on the number of players a team can retain.
