Mexico City, July 5 -- Kylian Mbappe scored his seventh goal of the tournament as France joined Morocco in reaching the World Cup quarterfinals.

In Houston, Azzedine Ounahi struck twice as Morocco overcame a testing first half to ease past Canada 3-0.

The reigning African champion took the lead just after halftime when Ounahi combined with Achraf Hakimi before finishing clinically into the bottom-right corner on Saturday.

Ounahi doubled the advantage by sweeping a first-time effort past Maxime Crepeau after he was set up by Brahim Diaz.

Real Madrid midfielder Diaz was again the provider when he spotted Soufiane Rahimi's run into the box and the striker beat Crepeau with a low finish into the far corner.
