Dharamshala, July 31 -- The Department of Women and Child Development, Himachal Pradesh, will observe World Breastfeeding Week across Kangra district from August 1 to 7, 2026, with extensive awareness programmes to be organised at all 4,226 Anganwadi Centres to promote maternal and child health.
District Programme Officer (DPO) Ashok Sharma said the campaign would be implemented through all 15 Child Development Project Offices (CDPOs) in the district. Supervisors, Anganwadi workers and helpers will conduct village- and ward-level outreach programmes to educate pregnant women, lactating mothers and their families about the importance of breastfeeding.
