Kakinada, Aug. 18 -- A large number of workers owing allegiance to the AITUC staged a dharna in front of the Collectorate here on Tuesday, demanding a minimum wage of Rs 31,000 and seeking redressal of their long-pending demands.
The workers raised slogans demanding repeal of the four labour codes introduced by the Centre and restoration of the 44 labour laws.
Addressing the workers, AITUC State vice-president Thatipaka Madhu said the protest was against the "anti-people and anti-worker policies" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the State.
He said the agitation would continue until Narendra Modi stepped down as Prime Minister.
