Pilibhit, April 1 -- A 56-year-old farm worker was injured in a suspected tiger attack in the Puranpur area of Pilibhit district on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Bharat, a resident of Murainiya Gandhinagar village, was working in a sugarcane field when the animal attacked him around 11 a.m.

Other workers present at the site raised an alarm, prompting the animal to retreat into the field.

Bharat was immediately taken to a private hospital in Palia, where he is currently undergoing treatment.

Forest officials, including Ranger Lalit Kumar from Sampurnanagar, visited the hospital to gather information about the incident.
