Ankara, July 16 -- Turkiye's Defence Ministry said on Thursday that work on the country's Russian-made S-400 long-range air and missile defence systems was continuing, but refused to divulge details on the programme's current status or timeline.
"Work on the S-400 Long-Range Regional Air and Missile Defense Systems is continuing in multiple dimensions," Defence Ministry spokesperson Zeki Akturk told a weekly press briefing in Ankara.
"It will be shared with the public when there are concrete developments," he said, without elaborating.
The S-400 system, purchased from Russia, has been a longstanding point of contention between Turkiye and its NATO allies, particularly the United States.
