New Delhi, June 23 -- Elated at receiving his first national team jersey, teenage batting prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi described it as the most special moment of his young career.

The Bihar boy, who earned a call-up for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland and England and the Asian Games 2026, said the occasion fulfilled the dream that first inspired him to pick up a cricket bat.

At 15 years and 71 days, Sooryavanshi broke a 36-year-old record held by Sachin Tendulkar to become the youngest player ever picked for India. Should he feature during the upcoming tour, the Rajasthan Royals batter will also become the youngest player to make his debut for India in men's international cricket.
