Solapur, Oct. 7 -- The long-delayed election process for local self-government bodies in Solapur district has gained fresh momentum after a gap of nearly seven years, following the draw of reservations for municipal councils and nagar panchayats. The results have led to women securing mayoral posts in several local bodies, marking a significant step forward under the Mahila raj initiative and prompting established political leaders to consider contesting from the newly reserved constituencies.
