Tridib BaparnashNew Delhi, Sept. 14 -- The BCCI on Monday said the Indian women's team's decision not to accept the Asia Cup trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Mohsin Naqvi was a "conscious institutional call", with the board making it clear that the team's participation in the tournament and the manner in which it received the trophy were two separate matters.
BCCI secretary Devajit Saikia said the board had conveyed its position to the ACC in advance and had decided that the Indian team would not take part in the trophy presentation under the prevailing circumstances.
