Chennai, March 7 -- Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K.Stalin, in his message on the eve of International Women's Day (IWD), described Women as a powerful force that drives the world.
In his IWD message, he said "Why did women become slaves?"--it was social reformer Periyar E. V. Ramasamy who raised this question and created awareness.
Following his principles, late DMK Patriarch and Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi enacted a law granting women equal rights in property and provided reservation for women in government jobs, he recalled.
