New Delhi, April 9 -- A case of betrayal came to light in outer Delhi, where a woman allegedly exploited her friendship with the complainant to facilitate a theft at her residence in Sultanpuri, an officer said on Thursday.

According to the police, an e-FIR was registered on Saturday at Sultanpuri Police Station after a woman reported a theft at her residence between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.

"As per the statement of the complainant, the accused allegedly entered the house by unlocking the door and decamped with cash and jewellery worth over Rs 3.2 lakh, including gold necklace sets, rings, a chain, and anklets," said Vikram Singh, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Outer District).
