Bareilly, Nov. 27 -- A young woman lawyer was found dead inside a car abandoned at a private hospital in Shahabad, in what her family alleges is a case of dowry death.

Police have registered a case of dowry harassment and murder against her husband and in-laws, and an investigation is underway.

Police officials disclosed today that the victim, Mahjabeen, niece of Bareilly Additional District Judge Asgar Ali, had been married just nine months earlier, on 27 February 2025, to Dr. Mohammad Talha, an MBBS final-year student at Rohilkhand Medical College.
